In its conservation strategy, developed in 1995, WWF Hungary identified the Tisza-valley as its main priority region. One of it's goals is to contribute to the conservation of the Tisza region's biological diversity and, where possible, to restore the area to its former glory. Most of the natural treasures of the Tisza and its environs can only be protected through the continued use of traditional farming activities. Such practices also contribute to the well-being of the local population.
